Welcome to the Bold Authors Marketing Blog
Kae Wagner, Author and Founder of the Bold Authors Network and North Star Marketing.

Let's start with a confession most authors won't make out loud: they'd rather reorganize the sock drawer than market their book.

Fair. You wrote the thing. That was supposed to be the hard part.

Surprise. It was the first hard part.

Welcome to the Bold Authors Marketing Blog, a home for authors who are done whispering about their books and ready to talk about them like they mean it.

Why this blog, why now

In spite of AI, I think 2026 is The Year of the Human. After years of louder, faster, more automated everything, readers have hit their limit. Anyone can generate a decent book description in seconds. Anyone can schedule forty posts a week.

So "decent" stopped being impressive. AI is now the norm.

But in the Era of AI, authors still have opportunities.

What readers respond to now is you. Your voice. Your perspective. The story behind the story. Readers don't buy from algorithms. They buy from authors they feel they know.

That's good news. You're the one thing nobody can copy.

What you'll find here

Every post tackles one piece of the author marketing puzzle. And nearly every puzzle piece fits into one of three buckets:

• Writing. Is the book itself doing its job? (Your reviews will tell you. Sometimes with feeling.)

• Publishing. Covers, categories, KDP, A+ content. The silent behind-the-scenes workers that often catch first-time authors by surprise.

• Marketing and promotions. Getting your book in front of the right readers, then keeping them close

Expect practical fixes, some theory, and an occasional rant. You'll find breakthroughs from real authors. The occasional hot take. And zero "just keep posting and it'll happen eventually."

It won't. We'll show you what will.

Who this is for

• First-time authors staring at a sales dashboard that reads like a flatline.

• Seasoned authors whose sales stalled and who suspect the cover (it might not be the cover).

• Leaders and experts writing a business book to build authority, who'd like it to be read, not just printed. And, they'd like to speak about it on a stage.

• Authorpreneurs who've stopped calling this a hobby. Now, we're talking ROI, and that's my language.

The "bold" part

Bold doesn't mean loud. It means willing.

Willing to be seen clearly. Willing to say exactly who your book is for. Willing to show up consistently, long enough for readers to recognize you in a crowded feed.

It also means persistence, courage, grit, and resilience. The kind of 'dog with a bone' grit that never backs down.

Bold authors don't wait around for courage; they don't wait to be discovered. They make themselves easy to find, and easy to trust.
